$42.45 billion program deploying broadband infrastructure to all unserved and underserved locations in the U.S., allocated to states and territories to fund ISPs connecting homes and businesses lacking reliable internet.

Key Requirements & Eligibility

  • 1Funds flow through state broadband offices to eligible subgrantees (ISPs, utilities, nonprofits)
  • 2Priority: unserved locations (under 25/3 Mbps) first, then underserved (under 100/20 Mbps)
  • 3Minimum service: 100/20 Mbps; projects must be capable of 1 Gbps/1 Gbps
  • 4Open access requirements for funded infrastructure
  • 5ISPs must offer low-income affordable plans as condition of funding
