About This Program

Sarah is the Interim Director for the Department of Commerce. She previously served as Deputy Director, overseeing a broad portfolio spanning housing, energy, economic development, local government, community services, and government relations. Sarah works closely with Commerce’s executive leadership team to align agency operations and ensure effective delivery of programs and services across Washington. She is focused on strengthening collaborations so government systems work better for the people they serve. Sarah holds a Master of Science in Earth Sciences from University of California Santa Cruz, a Bachelor of Arts in Geology from Smith College, and a Certificate in Strategy Execution for Public Leadership from Harvard Business School Online. Sarah lives in Olympia with her family.
